Lambs suffer heart attacks after extreme animal cruelty

Police are hunting for a sick individual who has been cutting the right ears off lambs in the Armagh area.

The PSNI has received a number of reports where lambs have been attacked in the Battleford Road area.

And in each case the right ear has been removed.

According to police, this has resulted in the lambs suffering a heart attack and dying.

“Someone out there knows who is behind this act of animal cruelty,” say police.

“We have increased patrols in the area and our enquiries will continue.

“If you can help us please call on 101 quoting ref 1323 9/5/15.”

Sinn Fein  MLA Cathal Boylan has condemned those behind the horrific attack.

“This was a disgusting, sadistic and cowardly attack on innocent animals,” said Mr Boylan.

“I cant even contemplate the mentality it would take to do something like this.

“As well as being a  wanton act of sheer cruelty this attack has also damaged a farmer’s livelihood.

“It is undoubtedly in the best interest of the public that someone capable of such a callous act is apprehended as soon as possible so I would call on anyone with information to either pass it on to the police.”
