Three men armed with baseball bat and crowbar beat man lying on sofa in Keady house

Three men armed with a baseball bat and a crowbar broke into a house and beat a man lying on the sofa of his home in Keady on Thursday evening.

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of an aggravated burglary at residential premises at the St. Matthews Estate area shortly after 7:50pm.

It was reported that three masked men entered a house in the area with one man armed with a baseball bat and one man armed with a crowbar.

It is understood that a male occupant, aged in his 20s, was lying on a sofa, when he was struck a number of times with the baseball bat.

The men then left the property following the incident.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and police would appeal to anyone with any information is asked to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1709 18/11/21.
