St Patrick’s High School is celebrating an incredible achievement after receiving an impressive ten nominations at this year’s Education Awards, with the prestigious ceremony set to take place at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on October 10.
The nominations represent a tremendous achievement for the school community and are a fitting recognition of the dedication, commitment and care demonstrated by staff at St Patrick’s High School every single day.
Among the nominations is Best Post Primary School, County Armagh — an award which the school believes would be a true testament to the collective efforts of every member of staff who works tirelessly to support its pupils.

While the individual nominations celebrate the outstanding contribution of particular members of staff, the school believes that the nominations belong to the entire St Patrick’s community as without their dedication, late hours and help it would not be possible.
Behind every nomination are countless hours of work that often go unnoticed. From staying behind after the school day to deliver additional revision classes, giving pupils extra support when they are struggling academically, to simply being a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on, staff continually go above and beyond for the young people in their care.
At St Patrick’s, education is about far more than examination results. Staff work hard to ensure that every pupil feels valued, supported, listened to and included, regardless of their individual needs or circumstances.
Teachers, classroom assistants, support staff and the wider school team dedicate additional hours to helping pupils achieve their potential — emotionally, socially and educationally. Whether it is helping a pupil build confidence, supporting them through a difficult day, providing additional learning opportunities or celebrating their achievements, the commitment of staff extends well beyond the traditional school day.
The school is particularly proud that its staff have been recognised across such a diverse range of categories, reflecting the breadth of opportunities and support available to pupils.
For many staff, the most rewarding moments happen away from the spotlight — when a pupil finally understands something they have struggled with, when a young person finds the confidence to believe in themselves, when an anxious pupil feels reassured, or when a student realises that someone genuinely believes in them.
These moments may never make the headlines, but they are at the heart of what makes St Patrick’s High School special.
As the school looks forward to the Education Awards ceremony at Belfast’s Europa Hotel on 10th October, there is already much to celebrate.
