Safety measures promised at dangerous Keady junction within next four to six weeks

Signage is to be installed in response to local concerns

Road safety improvements have been promised at a dangerous Keady junction.

A commitment has been given by the Department for Infrastructure for new measures after local community concerns.

The Department will focus on the Tassagh Road with efforts to improve safety for all in the area.

It is a move which has been welcomed by Sinn Féin Councillor Bróna Haughey.

‘Side road ahead’ signage as well as ‘slow’ road markings will be introduced on the Tassagh Road, where it meets the Annvale Road.

“It is hoped that these measures will make road users aware of the road conditions and that they will adjust their speed accordingly,” said Councillor Haughey.

“The Department has said that these works should be completed within the next four to six weeks.

“I hope that these measures will encourage motorists to reduce their speed and make the roads in the area safer for all.”
