
Police have closed two roads in Keady this morning (Wednesday) due to an ongoing security alert in the area.
The Granemore Road and Dundrum Road are both currently shut, with cordons in place as officers work at the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the areas of Dundrum Road, Granemore and Lower Darkley Road while this public safety operation is carried out.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “The Granemore Road and Dundrum Road in Keady are currently closed due to a security alert in the area. Cordons are in place and the public are advised to avoid the area at this time.”
No further details have been released at this stage, but motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area while the incident is ongoing.
Sinn Féin MLA, Cathal Boylan, said: “This ongoing security alert has caused significant disruption and concern for local people. I urge the public to follow police advice, stay away from the area, and allow the PSNI to carry out their work safely and without obstruction.
“I welcome confirmation that no injuries have been reported at this time. The safety and wellbeing of the local community must remain the top priority.
