Popular Basil Sheils premises shuts for deep clean after staff member tests positive for Covid-19

'We wish to confirm the affected member of staff had not been working up to three days prior her symptoms became apparent'

A popular Co Armagh bar and restaurant has closed for a deep clean after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

Basil Sheils, at Tassagh, confirmed the news on social media.

It said: “Basil Sheils priority is with the safety of their customers and the well being of the affected staff member and colleagues within the premises.

“We wish to confirm the affected member of staff had not been working up to three days prior her symptoms became apparent.

“The member of staff has not returned to work and is self-isolating at home.

“Since the onset of Covid-19 outbreak, Basil Sheils has implemented measures to keep staff and customers safe in our premises.

“The health of our staff and customers is our top priority and in line with guidance from health experts, Basil Sheils is currently undergoing a professional deep clean as a precautionary measure.

“We wish the member of staff well at this time.

“We will be open for business as normal on Thursday 8th October from 6pm.”
