A man has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a workplace accident in Keady on Friday morning.
An electric contractor is understood to have suffered serious injuries in an incident within the proximity of Keady Health Centre on the Annvale Road.
Sinn Féin councillor, Brona Haughey, said that while “very little is known at this stage but I would just like to send thoughts and prayers to those involved in the incident and praise the staff and public at the scene who acted quickly to help those injured.
“Electricity has now been restored to the surrounding area.
“I understand that the injured man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. I also want to thank the emergency services for their help and support.”
A HSENI spokesperson said: “HSENI have been made aware of an incident that occurred this morning in the Keady area and are attending the scene.”
A spokesperson for the Southern Trust added: “We are aware of an incident this morning at the Willowbank facility in Keady which has been reported to the PSNI and the Health and Safety Executive NI.”
The Air Ambulance and fire service personnel also attended the scene.
