Lives put at risk in arson attack on Keady property

'As a result of this incident, residents of adjacent properties could have been seriously injured or worse'

Lives were put at risk after an arson attack in Keady last night (Saturday), police have said.

Substantial damage was caused to the interior of the St Patrick’s Street property after it was alight.

It happened at around 5.45pm on Saturday and police are investigating and appealing for witnesses.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “We believe that somebody may have been in the area who could assist us with our enquiries.

“As a result of this incident, residents of adjacent properties could have been seriously injured or worse.

“Thankfully our colleagues in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service were quick on the scene and able to bring the fire under control before anyone was hurt.
