A group of dedicated frontline workers in Keady are to shave their heads for the Southern Hospice this weekend.
What started out as a joke among hardworking colleagues, turned into a more serious fundraising drive for a charity close to many hearts.
“It started off as a laugh in the shop, the fact there are no hairdressers or barbers open,” said Aisling Murphy, one of those braving the shave on Sunday.
“The shave was suggested and the rest was history.
“We decided on the Newry Hospice as it is close to a lot of hearts here, as the have cared for some of our loved ones.
“The care they provide is priceless and it is nice to repay them with the much needed funds.
“So, last Saturday we started the GoFundMe page and we are shaving our heads this Sunday.”
Aisling said she’s a little nervous about the new look but “it’s only hair, hopefully it will grow back”.
Those taking part with Aisling include: Fiona Hughes; Ann Duffy; Mary Gray; Tisha Molloy; and Dean White. There were two late fallers but we’ll not name names!
