Keady man pleads guilty to causing death of 89-year-old woman by dangerous driving

Keady RTC

A Keady man today (Wednesday) admitted causing the death of a pensioner by dangerous driving.

At Newry Crown Court, defence QC Patrick Lyttle asked for John Desmond Kinsella to be rearraigned and it was then that the 37-year-old entered a guilty plea to causing the death of 89-year-old Claire Coyle by driving dangerously on the Victoria Road/Clay Road in Keady on August 14, 2018.

None of the facts were opened in court and following his confessions.

Kinsella, from the Clay Road, was freed on bail by Judge Neill Rafferty QC who ordered a pre-sentence probation report to be compiled ahead of the plea and sentence.

Expressing his sympathy and condolences to the family of Keady woman Mrs Coyle, who was a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the judge said he would pass sentence on April 23.
