Huge volumes of household waste scattered over Carrigatuke beauty spot

All manner of waste including a child's toy car have been thrown out for others to come and pick up

Carrigatuke dumping

Coronavirus or no coronavirus some people will let nothing put them off from a little bit of fly-tipping.

It seems as if someone has had a good old clear out.

And instead of holding on to it or waiting until the recycling centres do reopen on Monday, this is what happens.

This was the scene at Carrigatuke, a fantastic local beauty spot renowned for its views.

But this was the view for locals who went for daily exercise.

Rubbish – all manner of it and in abundance – has been dumped. It appears as if it would have taken a van or bigger to transport it given the sheer volume of waste which has been deposited.

And not just content to leave it, it has been thrown down a slope to make it even more difficult to recover.

There has been an issue over recent years with the dumping of tyres at this location.

On this occasion there were tyres dumped too – four of them, still attached to an unwanted child’s toy car!

At such difficult times when essential services are pushed to their absolute limits it is scandalous to see this happening again.

Anyone with information on this or any incidents of fly-tipping can pass it on to their local council’s environmental department.
