Funeral on Sunday for Keady pensioner killed in Dungannon collision

The funeral of a Co Armagh pensioner killed in a collision in Dungannon this week will take place on Sunday.

Ivan McIlrath, who was in his 80’s, was the driver of a silver Citroen Berlingo which collided with a bus on the Moy Road shortly before 9.30am on Thursday.

He tragically died at the scene.

Mr McIlrath, from Madden Road in Keady, was the beloved husband of Anna, dearly loved father of Mark, dear father-in-law of Louise, and loving grandfather of Dylan, Erinn and Kristopher.

Funeral from his late home on Sunday, September 4 at 2pm to First Keady (The Temple) Presbyterian Church for service followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Mr McIlrath was described, in many of the online tributes, as “a true gentleman who will be sadly missed”.

Another described him as “a great neighbour and family friend” – and a man who “will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him”.
