Fundraiser to support partner and children in wake of Keady man’s death hits almost £3,000

'You were the best daddy in the world we love you so so much'

A fundraiser launched by the friend of an Armagh woman grieving the sudden loss of her beloved partner earlier this month has hit almost £3,000.

Following the unexpected death of Keady father-of-three, Conor Maguire on August 2, his family have been scrambling to put the pieces of a “life torn apart” back together.

Conor was a devoted dad to three young children, Cohen, Cienna, Connie. They also had a beautiful daughter, Elsie-Mae who passed in infancy.

He was the loving partner of Caoimhe, who is now battling to face life without him, continuing to raise their three children, keep their home and pay bills.

To help ease the financial burden, her friend Mise has now launched a GoFundMe page with the aim of raising £3,500.

So far, it has already accumulated £2,800 thanks to overwhelming local generosity.

Explained Mise: “Caoimhe lost her partner just three weeks ago, and she is now facing life without him while caring for their three young children. On top of the unimaginable heartbreak, she still has the everyday worries of keeping a home, paying the electric and running a car for her and the children.

“Caoimhe has her own buisness as a hairdresser and as we all know Caoimhe needs time with her familly to process this heartbreak.

“I’m just asking anyone who can, even if it’s only your littlest donation, to please consider helping. Every single pound will make a difference and take even the smallest bit of pressure away from Caoimhe while she tries to get through this heartbreaking time.”

Following Conor’s death, Caoimhe also took the opportunity to sincerely thank those around her for their invaluable and freely given support.

Via social media, she said: “I’m so overwhelmed by the people walked through my door this past few days helped with the kids sent messages helped with the wake, especially Conor’s friends and family, sent gifts for kids, my clients that came through the door.

“I’m absolutely blown away. Times like this you really come to see who cares. I do see everyone’s messages but my heart just can’t take it at the minute but everything single one means everything to me… I do see them.”

She said the most horrendous week of her life taught her an important lesson that “life is fragile” adding, “don’t take one second for granted because it can go in the blink of an eye. If I could do anything I would take you back Conor please give us the strength to get through this horrible mess, we are in pieces.

“You were the best daddy in the world we love you so so much.”
