She was rushed to hospital, but died a short time later from her injuries.

Police had closed the road between Carbry Drive and Clea Road as they carried out their investigation late last night.

Newry and Armagh Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan – who lives in the town – said: “I share the shock and deep sadness of many within our Keady community at the news of the tragic death of this lady.

“The thoughts and prayers of all are with the deceased’s family and friends as they try to come to terms with the news of her tragic death and I extend my sincerest condolences to them.”

“This is a community in shock and mourning, it’s also a strong community. We will rally around all involved and will offer whatever support we can. This is a tragic incident and a sad day for the town.”
