AN entry of 800 sheep at Markethill on Wednesday, June 12, returned an improved trade for Lambs and Cull sheep.
Light lambs sold to 447p per kilo for 21 kilos @ £93.80 with several pens from 425p to 438p per kilo. The entire entry of light lambs averaged 420p per kilo.
Heavy lambs sold from £92 to £98 and up to 400p per kilo for 24 kilos @ £96 each. The entire entry of heavy lambs sold averaged £94.70 each.
Good quality Cull ewes sold from £60 to £77 each with 2nds from £40 to £55 each.
A smaller entry of Ewes and lambs sold readily. Doubles sold from £150 to £188 each. Singles sold from £120 to £152 each. The final sale of Ewes and Lambs for this season will be next week 19-06-13.
