Gas cylinders stolen from filling station forecourt

As many as 30 gas cylinders were stolen from the forecourt of a filling station on the Forkhill Road, Newtownhamilton.

The theft took place earlier this month and police have appealed for information.

Constable Colin Jamieson, Newtownhamilton Response, said: “Around 2am on Saturday, October 4, a silver Ford Transit vehicle pulled into the forecourt of a Spar store on Forkhill Road.

“An occupant of the vehicle broke open the gas storage cage and took between 25 and 30 Pro Gas red and yellow cylinders.

“I am appealing to anyone who has information in relation to this incident to contact us in Newtownhamilton on the 101 number.”
