Sinn Féin councillor Mickey Larkin has condemned the latest fuel waste dumping incident on the Captain’s Road, Forkhill.
“This incident took place on the early hours of Thursday morning and I have since arranged for the safe removal of this waste.
Councillor Larkin continued: “As you can see from the photograph the road was completely blocked by these cubes which have obviously just been tipped off a trailer.
“Rendering the road unpassable is totally irresponsible and shows a complete lack of regard for the people living on the road. This, coupled with the toxic contents of the cubes, confirm that the people involved in this dumping consistently put their own needs ahead of the needs of the community.
“This road has been used for dumping in this way before and people living here are totally sick of this behaviour. Again I urge the people doing this to stop.”
