Exceptional prices at Markethill

CATTLE trade maintained its recent level at Markethill on Tuesday, June 11, with several exceptional prices recorded throughout the rings.

Dairy stock sold to £1950 for a calved heifer from a Dungannon farmer.  The same owner received £1500 and £1440 for calved heifer.

Suckler outfits sold to £1440 for a Char cow and bull calf from a Gilford producer.  Others sold from £975 to £1090.

CULL COWS

In the beef ring cow/heifers sold to £193 for 620k (non FQA) at £1195 followed by £191 for 620k (non FQA) at £1185.  Cows sold from £135 to £160 for 600k at £960 and up to £1100 for 700k (157).  Fleshed Friesian cows from £120 to £136 for 770k at £1045.  Young Friesian cows to £161 for 640k at £1030.  Second Friesian cows from £100 to £115 per 100 kilos with the poorest lots from £65 to £90 per 100 kilos.  Fleshed Friesian bullocks sold to £183 for 650k at £1190.  Others from £160 to £176 per 100 kilos.
