Easier trade for lambs at Markethill

A LARGE entry of 1150 sheep at Markethill sold in an easier trade for lambs, a steady cull ewe trade and an improved trade for good quality ewes and lambs yesterday (Wednesday) May 22.

Heavy lambs sold from £100 to £106.50 each with a complete clearance realised.

Middleweight lambs sold from 460p to 480p per kilo for 20 kilos @ £95.80 each. Several pens sold from £100 to £106.50 each for 22.5 kilos (473p). Good quality hoggets sold from 375p to 395p per kilo for 21 kilos @ £83 each.

Cull ewes sold from £65 to £85 each with 2nds from £45 to £60 each.

A packed yard of Breeders sold in an excellent demand for good quality outfits. Several singles sold from £150 to £182 each.
