Watch: Thieves make off with – not one but two – loads of 8ft strainers from Benburb farm

Benburb farm theft

A Benburb farmer has appealed for information after two men were caught on CCTV loading a car – on two separate occasions – with wooden strainers during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened at a farm on the Tobermesson Road between Moy and Benburb in the early hours of Saturday, April 25, according to the owner, who shared details – along with CCTV footage (see below) – on social media.

The footage shows a dark-coloured Ford Mondeo being driven onto the yard before two males load the vehicle with what are believed to be 8ft strainers, filling both the boot and rear passenger area.

Sharing the footage, Alfie Shaw wrote: “So how many 8 foot strainers can you fit in the boot a Ford Mondeo?? Answers on a post card please!!

“Thanks to this pair we found out the hard way.

“Friday night 24th, Saturday morning at 2am returning again 3.30 for a second load to our farm at Tobermesson Rd between Moy and Benburb – anyone seen them on the road we’d love to know if they got home safe or more importantly where home is.”

The matter has been reported to police. The crime reference number is 69627426.

Anyone who was travelling on the Tobermesson Road area between Moy and Benburb around 2am–3.30am on Saturday morning, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage, is asked to contact police on 101, or to report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
