Seven local teams and individuals were recognised for their achievements in the fields of sport and community at the Mid Ulster District Council Civic Awards evening on Monday.

The ceremony took place at the Events Space at Hill of The O’Neill, Dungannon, and was hosted by the chair of the council, Councillor Paul McLean.

The evening recognised a wide range of success most notably in the fields of camogie, GAA, basketball and community service.

Speaking at the awards, council Chair, Councillor Paul McLean said: “Yet again, tonight’s awards have shown us that there is certainly no shortage of success, at all levels, in Mid Ulster.

“It was a pleasure to be able to acknowledge these successes again in person after the difficult and challenging circumstances of the last two years made that impossible.

“While each award we recognised this evening was different, collectively they demonstrate the great breadth of talent, skill and community pride which is characteristic of Mid Ulster and an inspiration to others.”
