A twenty-one-year-old man has been returned for trial on a number of charges relating to alleged indecent child imagery, which date back over three years.
Appearing for a committal hearing was Carlos Ballantine, from Killyman Street, Moy who is accused of two counts of distributing or showing an indecent image of a child as well as a single count of possessing an indecent image of a child.
Offending is alleged to have occurred on dates between April 24 and 29, 2021.
A lawyer appearing for the prosecution told Dungannon Magistrates’ Court there is a case to answer, which was agreed by, District Judge Francis Rafferty.
No details surrounding the circumstances of the alleged offending were disclosed during the short hearing, nor was there any indication as to why the case took so long to reach court.
Ballantine spoke only to confirm his identity and to confirm he understood the charges against him.
He declined to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf at this stage in proceedings.
Judge Rafferty remanded him on bail to appear for arraignment at Dungannon Crown court on a date to be fixed next month.
