Men flee scene after shop is ram-raided in Moy

A stolen car caused a multitude of damage to business premises in the Dungannon and Moy areas in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Police have appealed for information and believe that the incidents may all be linked.

At around 2am it was reported that a green Volkswagen Golf had been reversed into the side entrance of a shop on Dungannon Street in Moy.

No entry was gained to the premises however extensive damage was caused to the shutters as a result.

A number of men were reported to have fled the scene.

Police established that the car involved had been stolen earlier in the night after a burglary on the Donaghmore Road in Dungannon.

A report was also received that entry had been gained to a catering van parked on Moy Road in Dungannon. The inside of the van was ransacked and food strewn around the floor.

Police received a report that a shed at the rear of a pharmacy on Irish Street in Dungannon had been entered and a small number of items, including formula milk and tonic drinks stolen.

Police appealed for anyone who was in the area late last night or early this morning and who observed the movements of the Green coloured Volskwagen Golf or who witnessed any of the incidents to contact detectives in Cookstown 101 quoting reference 83 11/12/19.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
