A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a Boxing Day assault in Ballygawley.
The victim, who was in his 50s, was assaulted with a metal grate in Main Street area shortly before 7pm on Thursday, December 26.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
Following an investigation into the assault, a man (50) was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.
A police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and police continue to appeal to anyone with any information about this assault to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1024 of 26/12/24.”
