The man (31) and a woman (45) were detained after a 29-year-old man suffered a leg injury in the Gortgonis Road area at around 11pm on Tuesday 2 June.
The pair remain in custody at present and police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Independent Republican Councillor for the Torrent DEA, Dan Kerr said: “I’m aware of a stabbing incident in the Gortgonis area and understandably several residents in the local area have contacted me extremely worried.
“I’ve made contact with Apex Housing Association and see what measures they are taking regarding this incident.”
