Killyman Royal Black Chapter to host ‘Last Saturday’ parade in Dungannon this weekend

Saturday’s County Tyrone Demonstration in Dungannon occurs approximately every ten years with each of the districts hosting once every five years

Organisers of the County Demonstration of the Royal Black Chapter Last Saturday parade have notified that they intend to hold the County Demonstration for Tyrone and Armagh in Dungannon this coming Saturday.

The application was submitted to the Parades Commission by Killyman Royal Black District Chapter for the event, which expects to welcome 80 bands and some 20,000 spectators to the town.

Saturday’s County Tyrone Demonstration in Dungannon occurs approximately every ten years with each of the districts hosting once every five years.

Police say delays are expected in the Dungannon from 10am as participants and supporters assemble at Lord Northland Memorial Park before moving off at around midday along the following route: Park Lake Road, Moy Road, Ranfurly Road, Northland Place, Perry Street, Church Street, Market Square, Scotch Street, Lower Scotch Street, Railway Road, Milltown, Brooke Street, Wellington Road, Moy Road, and back into Lord Northland Memorial Park.

The town centre will be clear by approximately 2.30pm and businesses operating normally.

A service will take place in the demonstration field and at around 3.30pm the bands will form up again and proceed from Lord Northland Memorial Park, along Moy Road, to finish at Gortmerron Link Road/Moy Road.

This area is expected to be clear by 5.30pm.

Parade attendees and participants should respect the local area and not to park in any private entrances, restrict traffic flow or inhibit local access. Road markings, police coning and any direction given by officers on the ground should be adhered to.

All other road users should expect possible delays and to use alternative route were possible.

Car parking is available at the Official Car Park which is beside the demonstration field, accessed by taking Dungannon Park Lake Road. Car park is £10 payable either by cash or card.
