Dungannon Library has issued an urgent notice to members that it has been regrettably forced to close due to “damage”.
In a statement to the public, the library – based on Market Square – explained: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, there has been damage to the lower floor of Dungannon Library which will take a number of weeks to repair and rectify.
“For this work to take place, Dungannon Library will be closed until the end of May, possibly early June.”
Recognising the unfortunate timing of the closure, the library asked for patience and understanding as they tackle the problem.
“We can only apologise at this time for the inconvenience,” it continued. “We know this is particularly bad timing for the many local students who would use the library as a study space. We are truly sorry.
“We will keep you updated through the website and social media. We will work as quickly as we can to reopen.”
Libraries NI have been contacted for comment.
