Armed officers arrest man and teenage boy after woman threatened with knife in Dungannon

A man and a teenage boy have been arrested after a woman was threatened with a knife at a property in Dungannon this afternoon, Tuesday, August 25.

Police were called to Perry Street at around 12.35pm following a report that two suspects had entered a flat and threatened the lone female occupant with a knife.

Responding officers, including Local Policing Team officers, Armed Response and PSNI Dog Unit, detained one man aged 53 at the scene on suspicion of common assault.

Another suspect, aged 16, was arrested nearby a short time later on suspicion of offences including common assault, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of an article with a blade or point.

Both suspects are currently in police custody and will be questioned in due course.
