Driest June recorded in Armagh in eight years

Armagh Observatory reports that June 2014 was the driest June at Armagh for eight years, that is since 2006, with a total precipitation of just 36.6 mm (1.4 inches).

This is approximately 63% of the most recent (1981-2010) 30-year average June rainfall at Armagh.

The mean monthly temperature was 14.7 degrees Celsius, approximately 0.9 degrees warmer than the most recent (1981-2010) 30-year average June temperature at Armagh.

This was the warmest June at Armagh for four years, that is since 2010.  The warmest day was 24.2 degrees C, on June 18th.

The number of hours of strong sunshine was about average.
