Cyclist sustained injuries after being struck by lorry

Police want to speak to the driver of a lorry which was involved in a collision with a cyclist.

Police in Newry are appealing for information about the incident, which happened at around 10.50pm on Friday, July 3.

Constable Stephen Cunningham explained: “A passerby came across a male cyclist who had sustained injuries following a collision with a lorry on the A1 between Newry and Banbridge.

“The 21-year-old cyclist sustained injuries to his leg which required medical treatment.

“We are asking the driver of the lorry involved to contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 1408 030715.”
