Cyclist badly injured in hit and run incident

Police in Newtownhamilton are appealing for information following a hit and run rtc.

Around 8.55pm on Wednesday, 1 July, a 30 year old man was cycling along Aghadavoyle Road, near the junction of Drumintee Road in Meigh, when he was knocked from his bike by a blue vehicle, possibly a Ford.

The vehicle did not stop. The cyclist sustained injuries to his face, shoulder, elbow and legs.

The blue vehicle turned right onto Aghadavoyle Road from the direction of Drumintee.

Constable Kathryn Young explained: “We are appealing to the driver of the vehicle or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 1336 010715.”
