This is the moment a gang of four burglars smashed their way into a south Armagh home – just one in a series of incidents that has caused immense concern in the community.
A number of homes in the Crossmaglen and Culloville areas have been targeted by criminals in recent days, which has been branded as “disgraceful and cowardly attacks on local families”.
One such incident saw these thieves target the home of a vulnerable member of the community in their home.
Sinn Féin MLA Aoife Finnegan said: “These were calculated attacks by opportunists who prey on the vulnerable. Their actions are revolting, and they having e no place in our community.
“I have formally reported the incidents and am working closely with the police and other relevant agencies to ensure a strong and coordinated response.
“CCTV footage has captured those involved, and police are actively working to identify them. I urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
“Our community will not be intimidated by shameful criminals. I encourage everyone to remain vigilant, report anything suspicious, and support elderly and vulnerable neighbours.
|Sinn Féin will continue to work with the police towards these criminals being brought to justice and ensure that our community remains safe and vigilant.”
