burglary

Three men broke in through the patio of a Crossmgalen home over the weekend.

Detectives are appealing for information following the burglary in the Newry Road area on Saturday, February 24.

It’s understood entry to the property was gained by intruders smashing a patio door at approximately 7.30pm.

Police believe three men were involved in this crime and would like to speak to anyone who witnesses anything out of the ordinary in the area on Saturday evening.

Officers would also like to hear from those who may have captured CCTV, dashcam or any other kind of footage that may assist their investigation.

Please call 101, quoting reference CW 486 25/02/24.

Sinn Féin councillor, Aine Quinn, commented: “While nothing was taken from the house, the occupants have been left badly shaken by this ordeal.

“The number of burglaries that have taken place in both south Armagh and Newry in recent weeks is extremely concerning.

“I would urge everyone to continue to be vigilant, to look out for their neighbours and ensure that their properties are kept secure at all times.

“If anyone has information on this crime, I would encourage them to bring it forward to the police.”
