Silver Audi A4 linked to spate of burglaries in south Armagh

A silver Audi A4 is being linked to a spate of burglaries in the south Armagh area.

There have been reports of incidents in Camlough, Lissummon, Newtownhamilton, Bessbrook and Jerrettspass last night (Thursday).

This follows on from two reported burglaries in the Keady area earlier this week – all being linked to an silver Audi.

Slieve Gullion area councillor Oonagh Magennis said spate of robberies in the Camlough and Lissummon areas was a matter of huge concern.

The local Sinn Féin Councillor said: “I have been informed that Homes in the Camlough and Lissumon areas were robbed last night.

“This news and given the fact that recently there have been robberies in the Bessbrook locality, is a grave cause of concern.

“An Audi A4 Estate car with four males on board is suspected of involvement in yesterday evening’s robberies.

“I would once again urge all to be vigilant and to be alert to suspicious activity.”

An elderly lady was also robbed in Jerrettspass.

A man in Belfast reported his silver Audi A4 stolen earlier this week, however, the theft of the vehicle and burglaries in south Armagh cannot be linked at this stage.

The car was put on the back of a lorry and taken away.

A silver Audi was also spotted on CCTV acting suspiciously in Crossmaglen over the weekend.

There are no further details at this stage but please report any suspicious behaviour to police on 101.
