Craigavon oil spill leads to a number of road collisions

Police in Craigavon are appealing for information following a diesel spillage and a number of road traffic collisions.

It is believed a diesel spillage occurred on a number of roads from 8am this morning, 15 May.

Police received a number of calls from motorists reporting treacherous conditions and received reports of three single vehicle road traffic collisions on the Crowhill Road, Lurgan and Deans Road, Bleary. One male was injured. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police have traced the route of the diesel spill from Point Road, Banbridge across the junction onto Drumnascamp Road, onto Lowtown Road, straight across the Clare Road junction onto Crowhill Road, right onto Plantation Road, left onto Deans Road, Bleary, right onto Sugar Island Road, then left onto Moyraverty Road, Craigavon.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to the spillage to contact them in Craigavon on the 101 non-emergency number, quoting ref: 202150514.
