A County Armagh church is planning a new community building to cater for young people – from babies through to teens!
And the Hope Community Church in Craigavon is just one of two churches in the county hoping planning officials will give their development plans their blessing.
Lisnadill Parish Church has plans to extend its car parking facilities with the demolition of a neighbouring property required to accommodate the proposals.
The Hope Community Church, at Highfield Road in Craigavon, has set its sights on constructing a new ‘multi-purpose community hall’.
This would including catering for a youth club, a craft club and a parent and toddler group.
The new development – an annex to the existing church – would include a main hall with seating, as well as a coffee bar, toilet provision and storage facilities.
Meanwhile, Lisnadill Parish Church, on the Newtownhamilton Road, is seeking permission to demolish a neighbouring property and use the vacant site together with gardens to provide parking.
There would be a total of 61 parking spaces and four disabled bays provided.
Plans also cover improvements to the existing church grounds, including the removal of a hedge, a new fence boundary – with black cast iron gates – and path widening.
Both applications have been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
