Six months jail for man who was ‘extremely violent’ towards police in Craigavon

The court was told the defendant had previously been jailed in Dumfries in Scotland

A man became “extremely violent” towards police in the Enniskeen area of Craigavon, the local Magistrates’ Court has been told.

Thomas Morgan (35), with an address listed as Tates Avenue in Belfast, admitted resisting police; attempting to damage a PSNI vehicle by kicking; and possession of cannabis on July 19 this year.

He kicked out at police and limb restraints had to be applied.

In another incident, on March 13 this year, he was disorderly at Enniskeen.

He appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court via video link from prison on Friday.

The court was told the defendant had previously been jailed in Dumfries in Scotland.

Morgan has now received a six months jail term for the Craigavon incidents.
