A man was ‘confronted’ in relation to an alleged ‘decoy’ case.

Peter Lyness (37), of Derryall Road near Portadown, is accused of attempting to have a ‘sexual communication’ with a child between September 29 and October 30 in 2023.

He is also charged with making and possessing and indecent photo of a child and possession of an ‘extreme pornographic image’ on October 29, 2023.

At Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday the case was sent to Craigavon Crown Court for arraignment on February 3.

The accused was released on continuing bail.

District Judge Michael Ranaghan said the case “involves decoy groups, two of them. It involves a confrontation with the defendant, never the most helpful going forward”.
