A county Armagh football club have moved a step closer to building a new state-of-the-art community hub.
Seagoe Football Club, based in Craigavon, were awarded a £350,000 grant through the Space & Place programme earlier this year.
Projects will transform under-used, contested and neglected space across Northern Ireland.
It has been almost three years since planning permission was first granted but it now looks like it’s full-steam ahead for the development.
A notice to contractors has been advertised with work due to commence in August.
It is expected the work will take up to 34 weeks – with a completion date of April 2018 likely.
The work will include the replacement of portable cabins with a multi-purpose community building, catering for a range of different groups in the area.
The Seagoe project is being put forward in partnership between the football club and Ballynacorr Rural Development Group and the community hub will host activities such as indoor bowls, table tennis and community meetings.
It will also include toilet facilities, a kitchen and meeting room.
