Man used razor blade to cut tags from bottles of aftershave in Debenhams

Debenhams, Craigavon

A man who stole two bottles of aftershave valued at almost £150 will learn his fate next month.

Court heard the 20-year-old had in his possession razor blades which were used to cut tags off items.

Evaldas Suopys, 20, of Clanrolla Park, Moyraverty pleaded guilty to theft and going equipped for theft at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

It was heard that on May 8, the defendant stole two bottles of aftershave to the value of £144 from Debenhams, Craigavon.

He was also found with razor blades for the purpose of cutting tags of items which he planned on taking.

Defence solicitor Philip Reid informed the court that Suopys was in breach of a conditional discharge for a similar offence.

Prosecution made it know that no restitution was being sought as the items taken were fit for resale.

District Judge Stephen Keown ruled that as the defendant was in breach of a court order a pre-sentence report would be required.

Suopys will return before the court on July 17 for sentencing.
