Man arrested for alleged threats to kill and setting a car on fire

A man has been arrested following an arson attack on a car in county Armagh last night (Wednesday).

The 35-year-old man was arrested following a car being set on fire in the Drumgor Heights area of Craigavon on the evening of Wednesday 16 March.

Chief Inspector Andrew Freeburn said: “At approximately 9.10pm, police received a report that a car was on fire.

“Police attended and at around 10pm a 35 year old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including arson, threats to kill, common assault and assault on police.

“The man is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”

18/03/16 UPDATE: Superintendent David Moore said: “The 35 year old man, arrested on the evening of Wednesday 16 March following the arson of a car in the Drumgor Heights area of Craigavon, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
