Live weather and roads updates as Storm Barra batters Co Armagh

Storm Barra is making his presence felt in Co Armagh already this morning (Tuesday).

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning right across Northern Ireland for throughout the remainder of today and into Wednesday morning.

There are reports of trees down already with one blocking the main Battleford Road near the Knappagh crossroads (main image, right).

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council said there may be disruption to our household recycling service across the borough “due to adverse weather conditions.”

In Newry, Mourne and Down, the Council has closed its forests and country parks, which include; Delamont Country Park, Kilbroney Forest Park; and Slieve Gullion Forest Park. All associated car parks, play parks, forest drives, walking trails and mountain biking trails will be closed throughout Tuesday 7 December.

It is anticipated that most facilities will re-open following safety inspections on Wednesday (mid-morning), however inspection of the mountain bike trails may take longer.
