Lismore College forced to close due to water outage – exams to go ahead as planned

Lismore College in Craigavon has been forced to close to most pupils today (Wednesday, May 13) due to a loss of water supply at the school.

Parents and carers were advised on Wednesday morning that, as a result of the issue, the school would not be able to open as normal.

The closure affects the main school day, but all scheduled external examination papers will proceed as normal, with only those pupils sitting exams asked to attend.

In a message to families, the school said: “Due to the school having no water we are going to have to CLOSE the school today!

“Students should ONLY come to school if they have an exam!

“External exams are running as planned but revision sessions have been cancelled.

“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”

Lismore College’s new £31 million school building officially opened last year, following significant investment in upgraded facilities.

It is understood efforts are being made to resolve the water issue as quickly as possible. Further updates are expected to be communicated to parents and carers directly by the school.
