Juveniles arrested on suspicion of possessing and supplying drugs in Co Armagh

Police plea to parents to help stop children becoming involved

Two juveniles were arrested after Class A drugs were seized in Craigavon.

Drugs, in both powder and tablet form, were seized during a search of a house where police suspected drug dealing was taking place.

Class B drugs – herbal cannabis and cannabis resin – were also discovered.

The two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of possession and supply offences.

The PSNI has called on parents to play their part to deter young people from getting involved in drugs.

While they were delighted to have taken drugs off the street, concern was expressed via social media over the age of those detained.

“On this occasion however there is a sadness to this result as the two males we arrested were juveniles, or if you prefer ‘just kids’,” the PSNI in Craigavon revealed via social media. “Although we will do our best to turn them from this path I suggest it’s a bigger issue for us all in society that children think this is acceptable.

“Please help us stop our kids getting pulled into this dangerous and criminal world, report everything you know or hear about drugs or drugs dealers and let us deal with them.”

Anyone who has information can contact the PSNI on the non-emergency number 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
