KIng's Park A after their Shield victory

A total of 14 schools in the Mid-Ulster area competed for the annual Terry Shields Mid-Ulster Shield on Wednesday.

Northern Ireland National Team Ladies Captain Marissa Callaghan played a major part in the success of the day, supporting the awestruck girls and presenting the awards to the eventual winners King’s Park Primary and Nursery School Lurgan.

And there was major success for King’s Park girls who defeated Edenderry Primary School of Portadown 2-0 in the Shield Final.

In the plate final, Waringstown Primary School got the better of Bocombra PS on the same scoreline.

The win has qualified the girls for the Northern Ireland Finals at Lurgan Town Football Club on June 16.
