A Co Armagh grandmother has been left heartbroken after losing her cherished engagement ring during a visit to Craigavon Area Hospital.

The woman had been visiting her granddaughter in the neo-natal unit at around 4pm on Wednesday afternoon.

It was not until she returned home that she made the devastating discovery.

Her son told Armagh I : “She has had the ring for over 45 years and is so upset after losing it. It had huge sentimental value.

“She lost it somewhere between the neonatal unit and the pay station for the car park at the front of the hospital.

“It’s a large diamond – about the size of two pound coins put together – and has 15 diamonds in it. It is yellow gold.

“She is away home now so upset. If someone has found it or knows where it is can they please hand it in at the neonatal unit or reception and let us know.”
