Residents could go TWO WEEKS without internet following car accident

A number of residents in Craigavon could be forced to wait upwards of two weeks before their internet is restored following an accident in the area on Thursday afternoon.

A car crashed through several telephone cabinets and into the front of a house in the Larkfield area leaving many without access to internet in the process.

However, engineers say the broken cabinets could take up to a fortnight before they are repaired and functional again.

SDLP representative in the area, Thomas Larkham, said he has been inundated with calls and texts in relation to the issue.

“After lengthy conversations with engineers this is the situation,” he explained.

“I have been told that it might take at least one possibility two weeks to have all internet and telephone services fully restored in the area.

“However, in the meantime they have advised that anyone experiencing problems must call their service provider, explain the situation and ask for a temporary connection until service are fully restored.

“Please be assured that engineers are working hard to ensure this is resolved ASAP.”

Mr Larkham has asked for anyone that needs clarity to phone him 07510063671.
