Another Co Armagh McDonald’s Restaurant could soon be getting a makeover.
The restaurant at Rushmere looks set to be refurbished as part of ongoing plans and investment by McDonald’s across Northern Ireland.
An application for the work – which would see the premises being enlarged – has been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.
It is expected to be publicly advertised next week.
The McDonald’s Restaurant at Craigavon is located at Central Way, adjacent to Rushmere Shopping Centre.
If given the go-ahead, the restaurant will be subject to a new ‘folded roof’ concept of design which has been used at other outlets.
The restaurant itself will be extended and the drive-thru booths replaced.
There will also be some changes to the car parking and the vehicle exit.
A decision is expected by council over the next number of months.
If approved, it is likely that the premises will be forced to close temporarily while the work is being carried out.
The planned development comes after the completion of a major refurbishment – at a cost close to £400,000 – at the McDonald’s Restaurant at Meadow Lane in Portadown.
The premises at Sprucefield were also redeveloped.
The Craigavon proposal is just the latest in a line of planned investments in current stock as McDonald’s continues look to the future.
