Co Armagh man arrested at Belsonic on suspicion of drugs offences

Police warn continued action to tackle supply of drugs

A Co Armagh man has been arrested at Belsonic in Belfast on suspicion of possessing drugs.

The man was detained by the PSNI in Belfast at the Ormeau Park venue.

He was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A, B and C drugs, as well as possession with intent to supply.

The PSNI in Belfast took the man into custody before making contact colleagues in Craigavon, who conducted a follow-up search of his house during the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

The PSNI said promised they would continue to take action after revealed that a “young girl collapsed, quite possibly under the effects of drugs”, at Belsonic last night.

And they warned: “We will continue to tackle dealers of death. They don’t care about you, they don’t care about their communities, and they certainly don’t care about the murderous thugs whose pockets they line when the money gets passed up the chain.

“Aside from the death they bring directly, drug dealing, even at street level, funds serious and organised crime. It funds human trafficking. It funds firearms purchases. It even funds terrorism.”
