Calls to replace primary school’s crumbling mobile classrooms more than 30 years old

St Patrick's PS Aghagallon

Mobile classrooms, more than 30 years old, are falling in a bad state of disrepair at a local primary school.

And it has prompted calls for action from Alliance Councillor Peter Lavery.

The three class units at St Patrick’s Primary School in Aghagallon are in urgent need of attention.

“I have written to the Minister for Education and the Education Authority asking them to act urgently on capital investment for this school so that these mobile classrooms can be repaired or replaced,” explained Councillor Lavery.

“They are in a very poor condition after a number of decades of wear and tear. The door of the mobile toilet in particular is in urgent need of replacement.

“Pupils deserve to be able to study and learn together in facilities that are fit for purpose and that enable each one of them to develop to their full potential.

“I will continue to lobby so that the learning needs of the pupils attending this school are met.”
